Is your service a program that allows multiple students to work on the newspaper at once?

Our designer is accessible from any browser with an internet connection. Anyone who has access to your account can open and edit one of your designs. We do, however, recommend strongly that everyone use the same browser when editing your document. Moving between browsers could shift some of the text since each browser renders their kerning (space between letters) for letters differently. Also, don't work on the same project at the same time. Whoever saves last will win and erase what the other person has done.

Collaboration can be done, but the process is specific. You cannot have more than one person working on a project at the same time within the same account. Whoever saves last will overwrite what the other individuals did.

However, you can have more than one person in the same account working on different projects. The following works only within a single account. We cannot copy projects from one account to another. For schools and other organizations, we highly recommend only having a single account that all participants use. Here’s what many groups do is the following:

  1. Create a master project where all pages will be copied into.
  2. Assign each person a different project that corresponds to a particular page in the newspaper. (For example, person 1 is assigned to project A which is page 3 of the newspaper, and person 2 is assigned to project B which is page 4 of the newspaper).
  3. When each person has completed his/her page, the page can be copied into the master project and into the corresponding page.
  4. To do this, open up, Project A and copy page 1 of that project by hitting CTRL-A and the Copy button located in the upper right of the Designer.
  5. STAY IN THE SAME SESSION OR TAB. This will not work if you try to copy and paste elements into different open tabs or browser sessions.
  6. Click the “Projects / Account” button and open up the Master Project.
  7. Go to the correct page and hit the Paste button also located in the upper right of the Designer.
  8. Make any adjustments on the page.
  9. Repeat for each project that needs to be copied into the Master Project.
